My name is Junel Ogoc I am an Immigrant I am from the Philippines it’s a beautiful place to live in. However the country lacks in food and there’s no job for everyone else. One of the reasons why I left my home country is to get a better education, In my home country education is very critical for everyone else because most of us can’t afford to go to school just buying the supplies for school are not on the budget and I also want to support my family so they can have a better life. I decided to go to a different a country I heard that United States is a land of opportunities and freedom, the transportation that I used to go to the United States is by ship it took me months before I arrived to the United States.
As I arrived to the United States everything was different from my perspective instead of seeing small villages all I can see was tall buildings and some nice houses. I did not see children begging for money or family that’s living on the street. I stayed in New York City I rented an apartment their it was difficult for me to get to know to somebody because I didn't know what they were saying. It was a tough time for me to work my way up, I couldn't find any job and my payments for rent are due, and I could not find the place to where I want to go because the place is new to me. My surroundings are way to different to where I came from, But luckily I have managed to find a job but however there are policy's if you are hired and your an undocumented Immigrant there are consequences either put to jail or sent back to the place to where you came from. The good news is that I had managed to be steel worker, what I do in this type of job is build tall buildings or repair buildings that had been already damaged but many people had died to this job repairing buildings or making buildings is not easy as it seems it requires intelligence, skills, and efficient of what your doing not only that be aware of whats around you in the other hand, payment for this job is in good shape I was able to pay my rent and continue my purpose why I came to United States. My life in America seems to be much better that to where I came from, I was able to make money and have the things that I needed such as food, apartment, education, heat, and transportation, this country have well organized and much more advanced society the technology that they have invented are far much more advanced and much more efficient. Although the city have some major problems such as racism people Judge you by your Nationality, but in a good way economy is much better than we have its well organized, however in my country, society is not well organized people are starving and there a lots of crooks, stock markets are going down, there are no progress in the city, kids are on the street begging for money to survive instead of going to school learning. Parents can't afford to put their child to school. Others don't have any jobs, some just starves or look food in the garbage. United States is a land of opportunities and freedom, me as an Immigrant my life here is well treated, I have the same equal rights as everyone else, my life here is well to were it stands there are lots of jobs for everyone else but if you do the things that are not supposed to there well be punishment. Food here in the U.S are overflowing I was able to accumulate foods to more than I needed, the kind of food they have here in the U.S are pies, meat, health foods, processed foods, these are the main diet for all the Americans, although not all the foods are healthy most of them produce a lots of calories, eating food with high calories is not a good idea, you could end up in the hospital. The hardest obstacle of being an Immigrant is being judge by your appearance, every time I would go to work I would get called by names that I didn't like but I let these kind of things pass by I didn't such a big deal about it because I know it would just lead me to crisis. My job as a steel worker I would get paid by the hour I would work 9 hours in 6weeks and get the money that I needed to be able pay the things that I needed. I want my family to come to United States there are lots of opportunities for everyone here you are able to follow your dreams here in U.S you can have a well paying job, depends on what kind of job you have, there are also lots of foods here such as pie, meat, fruits, any thing you like. You won't starve although as people see you differently some people will discriminate you of how you look and try to put you down but don't mind them, if you work hard and focused on your main priority to be whatever you want you will be successful and have great life here in the U.S.
